I just want you to know, I've been fighting to let you go

Three things that have been on my mind:

1. Now that I must dress like a real person certain days of the week for work, I try less hard slash not at all on all the other days... fail. I'm currently wearing sweatpants and a t shirt. This is a big deal for me. But now that the weather is changing, this attitude must change too. Inspiration: I love everything about this outfit.

2. You may hate One Direction, but you will change your mind after watching this adorable interview. Harry, I will speak French with you. Ecoute! Also oh Zayn. Btw my friend wrote her feelings about them here. There are so many great links on it if you ever just wanna lose yourself in the cuteness that is One Direction. She is seeing them in June (so jealous). And you think I'm obsessed?

3. I was really annoyed with the tv show Girls at first because there was absolutely no diversity (just like Friends and How I Met Your Mother... surely there is one non-white person in NYC?!) and the characters were entitled brats. But after watching the third episode, I find them much more relatable (I can't lie and say I have nothing in common with the post English major who can't find a job in NYC... I see my future clearly now). Also Allison Williams is gorgeous. Just stop it.

Bodoni

I realize the last post was probably not the best note to end on during the holiday season, so I give you Ryan Gosling :)
Check out these tumblrs' take on hey girl Ryan Gosling! (thank you Claire hehe)

and I know... 2 posts in one day?!?! What am I doing with my life?  Literally nothing.

City life

Chicago is so cool!  I am in love.  This weekend I went with a friend to this beautiful vintage independent movie theater near Wrigley Field called the Music Box Theatre.  We saw this French film called Love Crime, which was brilliant yet very dark.  I also ate at some great restaurants this weekend:  Uncommon Ground if you are looking for natural unique food, Carmine's if you want a classy Italian dinner, and Cozy Noodles and Rice in Evanston, yummy and quirky.

And if that's not enough to make me obsessed with this city, I'm also so excited to go next month to the special presentation at the Chicago International Film Festival of Like Crazy, that movie I was raving about a few posts ago!!! I cannot wait.  Apparently it is rumored that Anton Yelchin and Felicity Jones, the lead actor and actress, will be there!  I am trying not to get my hopes up, but I'm afraid it is too late for that.

Some options I envision wearing for this event, black dress and a trench coat or jeans and a loose blouse:

Come with me my love to the sea

I am definitely in the romantic movie mood.  Two nights ago I saw Leap Year again, which was alright... If your going for a movie where you know the ending within the first 10 minutes, but want to watch it anyway because of Matthew Goode's good looks and beautiful Irish scenery, Leap Year is the movie for you.  Now if you want something slightly better, or a lot better, I recommend One Day.  If I cried in movies, I would definitely have let the tears fall in this one.  It is one of those movies where you need a good two hours to decompress what just happened (which was great, because I had to go to the dentist after, which gave me lots of contemplation time).  Between these two movies, I'm in a bit of a romantic mood.  On top of this, both movies (which I really should not be bringing similarities to these movies, since they were polar opposites on the romantic movie scale) were set in Europe, so I got that whole "man I wish I lived in Ireland/England/France/anywhere not here."  Its super annoying.  You know, the mood where you start planning your future wedding and your honeymoon in the Scottish countryside.  Don't worry, it'll pass, but in the meantime, I'll leave you with this cute wedding photo.

Be better than The Gap

I just saw Crazy, Stupid, Love.... sooo good.  My favorite quote would have to be the gap line, too close to home yet so true.  This is one of those great heartwarming movies and makes you leave the movie theater feeling like you're floating on a realistic amount of clouds, like Little Miss Sunshine or The Kids are Alright.  And this movie not only affirms the belief that love is worth fighting for (or whatever the moral of the movie was), but also that Ryan Gosling is the most attractive man to walk the earth.  Oh and I would like to be Emma Stone, love her.

At worst I feel bad for awhile, but then I just smile

So I just discovered this amazing blog, HelloGiggles, which happens to be cofounded by Zooey Deschanel, my woman crush.  Check it out yo.  Sometimes it's good to discover that I'm not the only super awkward person out there.  Some fabulous quotes I've stumbled on so far?

In getting ready for a party when you are feeling nervous and awkward:

"Before the party, I recommend doing something that makes you feel even more beautiful and glamorous than you already are.  For my graduation party, that meant shaving my whole leg.  I'm talking both legs, not just the shin.  This party was a big deal, so I went all out!  I felt like a million bucks!  A smooth million, that is."  So true.

Who doesn't love being single?  But for those few seconds where you are frustrated that you don't have a Ryan Reynolds to call your own:

"In conclusion, you are not a victim in the dating scene. I don’t care if it has been ten years since you’ve found love. In a world where Jennifer Aniston is the sad, unlovable girl who can’t get a man and she’s smoking hot with millions in the bank and the inventor of “The Rachel” haircut, you can easily see how hard it is out there to get it right. Take the pressure off yourself. There’s no rush. You’ve got this. You’re a pimp. You know all the words to every song in The Little Mermaid. Snap out of it."

But there is hope:

"Ryan Gosling is available. He’s often seen at 7-11 in the mornings and if he has low expectations for his coffee, it makes me feel like we all have a shot."  Yes.  Oh and who is excited to see him in Crazy, Stupid, Love?!  I cannot wait :)

Happiness hit her like a bullet in the head

First of all I would like to say: I AM DONE WITH FIRST QUARTER OF COLLEGE!!! I return to Dallas tomorrow, aka no more frozen nose and ears, no more greasy food, no more smelly bathrooms for one whole month! In order to celebrate I will share about my greatest love, the 1940s:

I watched The Notebook again this weekend.  Wow.  I don't cry in movies... ever. but I get emotionally attached like none other.  Any sad movie set in the 1940s with Ryan Gosling is a winner.  Yes I love the cutesy parts (dancing in the street to Billie Holiday, ice cream all over the face blah blah blah) but my favorite part has got to be in the boat, when Noah intensely stares at her with the rain pouring down.  Wow Ryan, you are attractive.  And wow, I have got to stop.

Anywhoo switching subjects, so you know how I wrote about no t shirts to class? I have upheld that (except for one time... you better be happy Lauren, it was your Wash U t shirt that threw me off), and for the past three months my lovely roommate Abby and I have been wearing nicer tops, cardigans, and jeans every single weekday.  We literally pick out our outfits together, without her I would dress like a slob.  So with all that said, I am a huge fan of this simple outfit:

Have a lovely week!!!!

Ooh hot damn...

I am finally home for Thanksgiving weekend!! My fam and I watched The Proposal again.... so funny.  So I would say with being home with my favorite people, stuffing my face with food, and obsessing over Ryan Reynold's gorgeous face, its been a pretty good weekend :)
