Tell me what's so easy about coming to say goodbye

I survived a trip to Berlin and Prague! My friend and I had a several panic attacks throughout the trip including one before we even left Paris. Sometimes traveling by yourself is hard.

I loved Berlin. Really loved it. We were only there for a day and a half, and we did a four hour walking tour and learned more than I ever did in history class. I loved how there were modern coffeeshops everywhere. Like legit coffeeshops. None of this old fashioned café nonsense like Paris (just kidding, those are great too). Apparently Berlin is known as "poor but sexy." I was not there long enough to really experience the city, but what I observed rings true.

Prague was beautiful. We were there for four days and did another four hour walking tour which covered several historical and touristy sites. Who knew they had a mini eiffel tower? It was endearing... The only problem I had with Prague was the sheer number of tourists. Oh and the lovers. Like seriously? And this is coming from a girl who is used to seeing people in Paris making out on the metro or at various historical sites. But Prague was worse. And to make it even more annoying, these lovers were not half as attractive or as well-dressed as Parisians, so I couldn't even be jealous. But this speaks only for the tourists in Prague, because I'm not really sure I saw a legit person from Prague between the hostel and the touristy historical sites. But I don't blame all those lovers for coming to Prague, because the Charles Bridge and the river pretty much kills you.

Some highlights:

- Withdrawing a 1000 Czech bill. I felt rich for five seconds.

- Getting caught by the German police for not having metro tickets. Too much money was lost paying for that ticket.

- Meeting someone from my college town at a bar crawl. So so random!

- Avoiding various creepy men. By the end of the trip, I was paranoid of everyone. Talk to me, and I will cut you.

- Plotting ways to kill pretty much most of the people in our hostel room... if you see someone sleeping at oh say 3 in the morning, its best not to talk loudly, just sayin.

- Going to the sketchiest club ever in Prague. It was pretty much a four story frat house with old creepy men. Yeah, we didn't stay too long.

- Losing my camera in Berlin :( I bought a disposable camera in Prague. Someone asked me if I was a hipster. Nope, just really needed a camera...

Last week was great, but one thing I realized is that it is so much scarier traveling to new cities with one other person rather than a group. And I also realized, I really want to return to Berlin someday, longer than 36 hours I hope. The photo is from this really cute coffeeshop near our hostel in Berlin. Unfortunately I never went in, because I had given all my extra money to the German police.

Nothing's fine, I'm torn

I'm not sure I should be admitting this...

So as we all know I love One Direction. To the point that when I heard they were giving out wristbands to 500 fans at 6 am at Barnes & Noble in order to get a book signed by the boys, I showed up with my friends at 6 pm at night. 12 hours baby. You'd think we were the first ones there, right? WRONG.

Over 500 girls had already showed up. Which parent allows their eight year old to spend the night at a mall?! Why?! We were promptly forced to leave by a security guard. And let me tell you, this security guard had major sass issues.

Why do I care so much? Because I am almost 20. Listening and obsessing over a boy band is the one thing (oh yes i did that) that keeps me tied to being young and immature. When that sassy overweight security guard (who looked fresh out of middle school) denied us the joy of staying up all night (1:27 is where its at) for just the chance of touching these boys, I felt like my childhood had been stepped on. Then thrown against the wall and shred into little bits.

Soon I'm gonna be in my 20s and will have to do classy things like eat in healthy portions, give confident handshakes, and go to bed before 2 on the weekends. I just want to be immature and carefree with the ability to passionately love a boy band who will never know of my existence, is that too much to ask for?

Niall, Zayn, and Harry lookin fine.

I just want you to know, I've been fighting to let you go

Three things that have been on my mind:

1. Now that I must dress like a real person certain days of the week for work, I try less hard slash not at all on all the other days... fail. I'm currently wearing sweatpants and a t shirt. This is a big deal for me. But now that the weather is changing, this attitude must change too. Inspiration: I love everything about this outfit.

2. You may hate One Direction, but you will change your mind after watching this adorable interview. Harry, I will speak French with you. Ecoute! Also oh Zayn. Btw my friend wrote her feelings about them here. There are so many great links on it if you ever just wanna lose yourself in the cuteness that is One Direction. She is seeing them in June (so jealous). And you think I'm obsessed?

3. I was really annoyed with the tv show Girls at first because there was absolutely no diversity (just like Friends and How I Met Your Mother... surely there is one non-white person in NYC?!) and the characters were entitled brats. But after watching the third episode, I find them much more relatable (I can't lie and say I have nothing in common with the post English major who can't find a job in NYC... I see my future clearly now). Also Allison Williams is gorgeous. Just stop it.

My heart is breathing for this moment

Last night, which should have consisted of writing a paper and studying for a midterm, ended up being a dance session with friends featuring past and present boy bands. So worth it. What better way to get through winter quarter? (post title from Moments by One Direction...I melt when I listen to this song. No judgment.)

Anywhoo check out this lovely lookbook by DSquared2 via Honestly...WTF. It reminds me of  1960s London. Perfect combination of elegant and sexy. I am especially loving that last black dress. Yes please. (Click on image to zoom)

And anything to make you smile

Let's talk about how beautiful this photography is. Also those shoes please.

My dignity's become undone

These lovely photos are from Scotch & Soda, an Amsterdam based fashion brand.  Their clothes looks so effortlessly sexy.  Yes.  I included the men's lookbook as well, not only because I love the style, but also because I find the model extremely attractive.  Those looks, that style... mmhmm you got me ;)
