Saying nothing, eating

“People talk about the happy quiet that can exist between two loves, but this, too, was great; sitting between his sister and his brother, saying nothing, eating. Before the world existed, before it was populated, and before there were wars and jobs and colleges and movies and clothes and opinions and foreign travel -- before all of these things there had been only one person, Zora, and only one place: a tent in the living room made from chairs and bed-sheets. After a few years, Levi arrived; space was made for him; it was as if he had always been. Looking at them both now, Jerome found himself in their finger joints and neat conch ears, in their long legs and wild curls. He heard himself in their partial lisps caused by puffy tongues vibrating against slightly noticeable buckteeth. He did not consider if or how or why he loved them. They were just love: they were the first evidence he ever had of love, and they would be the last confirmation of love when everything else fell away.”

If we start there

"The sun is perfect and you woke this morning.
You have enough language in your mouth to be understood.
You have a name, and someone wants to call it.
Five fingers on your hand and someone wants to hold it.
If we just start there, every beautiful thing that has and will ever exist is possible.
If we start there, everything, for a moment, is right in the world."

You're fierce and spread like wildfires

I love this. I tried getting off coffee two years ago, but it didn't last long. It seems like an anchor to me, every morning wherever I wake up I must have a cup of coffee. Well that and if I don't, I get a massive headache. If I go on a trip, I'd love to take a picture of my coffee every morning as documentation. My sister did something similar on our trip to London last summer; she took a picture of her feet in various areas. It is a nice change from the standard tourist pictures of monuments... well we took those too of course :)

And the way you move, I won't close my eyes

Life is good.

Yesterday One Direction released a new album. Be still my heart.

This morning I had breakfast with my dad. We had a real breakfast at an American diner, eggs bacon pancakes.

Tomorrow night I will see The Lumineers in Paris. And I will probably cry.

Thursday I will leave for Amsterdam. I have always wanted to visit Amsterdam, I've heard it is beautiful, among other things.

I don't think this is real life.

Coffee and cupcakes

I should never be given a day off from work.  I end up spending more money than I earn.  I went out with the goal of buying converse, essential walking shoes for college.  Did I get them?  No. I decided that with that money, I could instead get really cute sandals and high heeled boots for winter.  Neither are practical, but both are just so darn cute :)

Now I would like to take this time to rave about this amazing cupcake place down the street.  This morning I had the best cupcake ever.  Boston Cream from Molly's Cupcakes.  I am not one for cupcakes normally, Sprinkles never did it for me.  But this place will change your stereotypes for cupcakes, I almost have to eat the cake part and the icing separate because the conflicting goodness in my mouth is just too much to handle at once.

Blurry picture by me (notice my attempt to copy Simply Breakfast haha)

I'll take you home if you don't leave me at the front door

I really could live in this coffee shop.  It is the only place I can make myself update this on a regular basis and get my favorite breakfast (after listening for a good five minutes about the barista's terrible morning of having his bike seat stolen... just give me the coffee man, just kidding he really was lovely...)

On a happy note, i love this proposal video so much.  I don't know what my favorite part is: the literal shaking of the hands to match the lyrics, the i heart you t shirts, or the awkward oops i forgot your bag at the end.

But the clouds are clearing up and I've come reveling

Do you not love this lookbook from Brixton?  I cannot wait for warm weather, beaches, tanning, and having time to just be lazy and read a book.  I have a little over a month until freedom.... oh so close!

Now my feet won't touch the ground

You know what I love? Waking up early and studying at a coffee shop.  One of my dreams about going to college was living across the street from a cute café.  Well I don't quite have that, but I would say a five minute walk away from a ton of different ones is close enough.  So maybe Evanston isn't quite Chicago, but it keeps me sane being slightly separated from campus at least for breakfast :)
